2024 TnT Football Camp at Hoover: More than 300 young football players were at Hoover High School on a late June Saturday to hone their skills and learn new ones. The TnT All-Star Football Camp, organized by Iowa Hawkeye greats Tim Dwight and Tavian Banks, returned to Hoover to work with area students in grades 3-8. Players had a chance to learn the fundamentals of the game and improve their abilities throughout the day-long camp. Hoover Huskies head coach Theo Evans and his staff along with area coaches and college players joined Dwight and Banks in working with the students.
2024 Summer Strings Camp More than 50 rising 6th-9th grade students from 14 middle and high schools participated in the Summer Strings Camp at North High School. The closing concert featured numbers such as Vivaldi's Summer and the Olympic Fanfare, and camp games included the bow javelin, broken violin baseball, and bow hold relay races. The camp is hosted by the school district's orchestra directors along with a dozen high school volunteers from East, North and Roosevelt.
