Unified Sports

Des Moines Public Schools has joined the Inclusion Revolution by creating opportunities for students of ALL abilities to be on their school’s Unified Sports teams.  Unified Sports® allows for students without intellectual disabilities to join in the sports experience by playing on a team with athletes with intellectual disabilities.  This concept was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
